1 John 4:4 ESV “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ…”
Mark 16:17-18 ESV “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
A few months ago, I read the authorized biography of an evangelist who saw thousands of people healed in the 1970s. Her name was Kathryn Kuhlman. Man, I was fired up reading about these stories of healing and miracles through a tiny woman who would tell people she was just an ordinary imperfect person with an extraordinary miraculous God. She just believed God’s Word to be true even if she didn’t see it yet in the natural. Kathryn walked in obedience and surrender to God over many years, and over time, He moved through her in ways she could never have dreamed! Reading these words, I longed for this same heart of surrender to Jesus. Who doesn’t want to see REVIVAL break out in their generation? I was asking myself, “Am I ready to really partner with God in this season, even if I don’t fully understand His ways? Will I believe He is who He says He is, and I can do what He says I can do?”
A while before I read this biography, I was in an All-Staff prayer meeting and I began to hear and sing these words, “Revival is in our hands…. and our feet.” I thought to myself, “YES! Lord! You are inviting us to surrender completely to You and to move in Your authority. You have commissioned us to love the world with our surrendered lives!” So many times, we pray for a fresh move of the Lord, but we don’t pay attention to our posture, our heart preparation, or our participation. In 2 Peter 1:3 it says, “His [God’s] divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and virtue.” In Christ, we don’t have to wait one more second for what we need to step out, to live a life poured out, and yet full of faith. God says He has already given us what we need! Isn’t that awesome? Yet if I am honest, I find myself living like this is not true sometimes. I believe the lie there’s something more I need to know, or have, to be able to walk in obedience and authority in Christ, to see healing flow from my life into the lives of others.
I wonder, when is revival coming? Is it when we understand we carry it into the room with us? Is it when we show up? Is it when we rebuke fear and lies that set themselves up against the knowledge of Christ and we step out? Is it when we take the risk and lay hands on the sick, speak life over death in all its forms, and extend ourselves fully to those God so loved, He gave His only Son? (John 3:16)
God wants us to believe Him. Revival is here. He has put it in us, yes, even us!
Your personal application:
Let’s Pray. Lord, bring us into alignment with Your purposes, Your plans. Help us hold nothing back. Let revival flow from my life, my hands, my surrender, to go into the world and love people the way You did. I am available. Thank You for inviting me into Your plan to redeem the world.
“Revival’s in our hands
And our feet.
Revival coming at the speed
Of my surrendering.
When Holy Spirit Fire moves
Thru the rendered lives of me and you.
OH REVIVAL, YES! REVIVAL GONNA FLOOD THE STREETS.”
