Job Title: Children’s Pastor
Department: Pastoral
Reports To: Associate Campus Pastor/Campus Ministry Pastor
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: The Children’s Pastor is responsible for pastoring children up to middle school, leading the Children’s Worship Gathering, cultivating a healthy volunteer team/ culture, and overseeing all aspects of the Children’s Ministry/Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide pastoral care to kids
- Develop vision and culture of kid’s program
- Assure each Worship Gathering is staffed with volunteer teams for areas under their direction
- Recruit, develop, mentor and train volunteers
- Implement and direct volunteer training programs
- Oversee departmental and ministry events (e.g. kids camp, other special events)
- Attend leadership meetings, as directed
- Develop and maintain departmental budgets
- Plan activities as needed for ministry areas
- Provide pastoral assistance during main Worship Gatherings, including attendance counting, offering, and greeting at the door
- Provide pastoral care during office hours and on Pastor on Duty rotation
- Maintain correct information in Church databases (i.e., Planning Center)
- Work alongside other campuses to maintain global synergy within the Children’s Ministry
- Other duties as may be assigned
Supervisory functions: Has Supervisory functions. Supervise Early Childhood Pastor/Coordinator. Supervise or delegate supervision of CARE employees.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
