Job Title:  Early Childhood Coordinator     

Department:  Children’s Ministry

Reports To:  Next Gen Pastor

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Summary:  Directs and oversees the Preschool and Early Childhood Ministries, planning and executing all functions essential to create and sustain safe and viable ministries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop culture of Preschool and Early Childhood Ministry.
  • Recruit and develop Preschool and Early Childhood Ministry volunteer teams.
  • Lead Childcare Staff and Volunteer Leaders.
  • Check in on Preschool/Early Childhood classrooms during Worship Experiences and assist/teach classroom lessons as needed.
  • Build relationships with Preschool parents, families, and children by interfacing through ministry providing a warm, welcoming, and safe environment.
  • Develop Preschool and Early Childhood Ministry curriculum and programs.
  • Attend leadership meetings as directed.
  • Maintain departmental budgets.
  • Plan activities as needed for ministry areas.
  • Maintain correct information in Church databases (i.e., Planning Center).

Supervisory functions: 

All paid childcare teams will report directly to the Early Childhood Coordinator.

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
