THIS WEEK’S FOCUSED SCRIPTURE
…And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly Kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 2 Timothy 4:17b-18 (NIV)
THOUGHTS FROM BARB
Like Paul, the one thing I know for sure is that in this world you will have trouble, but the Lord will rescue you. Attacks will come and with them intimidation and fear, but God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). A spirit of fear comes after your ability to love, and it comes after your authority in the spirit, and it comes against your soundness of mind.
Your mind is constantly bombarded with worry and shame, but God is not the one who gave you a spirit of fear. Intimidation comes after the very gift of God that is on your life, and when you deal with that spirit of intimidation, you’re going to discover that the area the enemy wants to attack you in, is the very area that God wants to anoint you in.
So, if you’re under attack, you need to ask yourself the question, “What is so terrifying about me that the enemy has launched a full-scale onslaught?” Throw your shoulders back and understand that you have the Word of God — you can speak it boldly and in faith.
You can stay calm while enduring lengthy attacks and dealing with difficult people and problems. However, suffering serves an important purpose in God’s Kingdom, and trials are not optional. They come so that your faith may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor to God.
The Lord will faithfully rescue you from every evil attack and will bring you safely to His heavenly Kingdom. To Him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen!
I love this song of deliverance by Bethel:
“Raise A Hallelujah”
I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemy
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a mystery
I raise a hallelujah, Heaven comes to fight for me
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!
He’s Got This,
