2018 – Revive All
Resuscitate to life

The past week has been a whirlwind for my family. As I write this devotional, there have been some rocky points in my aunt’s health. My aunt has been battling cancer for the past few years and, as you may know too well, this battle isn’t one that anyone should have to fight. Cancer knows no age, race, or gender. It attacks the weak points of the body at the cellular level and its sole purpose is death. This really isn’t all that different from how the enemy attacks our life. John 10:10 states that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Just like cancer, the enemy knows no age, race, or gender. He wants nothing less than to take out your very existence by any means necessary. He attacks you at your very core. He knows your weakness and if you’re not watchful, he will lead you down a path that will lead to your spiritual death.

This past week my aunt had to answer a question that no one wants to answer. The doctor asked her, that if necessary, would she want to be resuscitated. This got me thinking. How many of us, even those who are Christ followers, are in need of a soul resuscitation? The definition of resuscitate means to revive (someone) from unconsciousness or apparent death. If we’re not careful, we can be completely unconscious to the fact that the enemy has us right where he wants us; we’re unaware that there are places in our lives where spiritual cancer has set in.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:10 (NIV)

Fullness! That is God’s desire for you. He desires for ALL of you to be revived. He wants to resuscitate you. To revive the very places that the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy. His desire is to mine down into your very core and bring about new life. Life to the FULL.

Today, I encourage you to be honest with yourself. Take some time for self-discovery. Ask God to search you. What areas in your spiritual life are weak or diseased? Where are you vulnerable to the attack of the enemy? What areas of your life need to be resuscitated? I pray that today God would begin to REVIVE ALL of you as you surrender these places to Him!
