PEACE ON THE ROLLER COASTER

Life sometimes is like a Roller Coaster.  Sometimes you’re up, sometimes down, and sometimes you’re going through loops.  There are some things we can control, while there are other things we can’t.  Has life ever thrown you a curveball that you couldn’t seem to get over?  Has your heart raced because of what was going on around you? One day you are a rock star at work, and the next week your boss talks about terminating you.  Your relationship could be going great one moment, and awful the next.  These are all things that can occur in our lives and change our feelings, demeanor, and self worth.  Any of these events can rob us of our tranquility, and like a Roller Coaster, can cause us to scream.  As opposed to focusing on the speed of the coaster or the size of the loop, let’s start focusing on THE PEACE OF GOD.  Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7 about the power of Peace.

Peace PROTECTS our hearts and minds from our external and internal trials.  The Greek word for “guard” is only used four times in the entire New Testament, and it gives the imagery of a military infantry guarding a base.  Your heart is the base of your life and it’s important to keep watch over it. Whatever your resolution is, remember to add seeking the Peace of God.  The formula to this peace is to simply pray, give thanks, and to not be anxious.  Anxiety is the enemy of Peace.  You are God’s child and you’re anointed with His peace.  Give Praise in your Problems and turn your Worry into Worship and God’s peace will be released.

SCRIPTURES

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6,7

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” — John 14:27

PRAYER

Father,

I am so thankful for this devotion today.  I needed these words of wisdom about guarding my heart and watching over it.  I ask Your forgiveness in areas where I haven’t been guarding my heart by making sure it is protected from the cares and concerns in my life.  Father, I choose today, with Your help, to make it a priority to protect my heart.

Bless our Victory Family today!  May Your healing power be believed and received by those in need of healing.  May Your provision be believed and received by those in need of provision. Let Your peace rule supreme in our hearts.

I love you, Father.  I’m so thankful that I live in Your fullness today!

In Jesus’ name…Amen
