John 14:26 (ESV)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
I love this verse because it reminds us of our role in our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Our role is to make time for the Holy Spirit to teach us and help us remember all that God has said to us. The beautiful thing about being in relationship with God is His desire to help us live godly lives. He doesn’t expect us to live for Him without Him. When we make time in our lives for the Holy Spirit to teach us and help us remember what the Lord has said to us, we will find it is easier to live godly lives. My encouragement to you is to remember that people who live godly, faithful, and fulfilling lives aren’t the most talented; they’re the most available. Your greatest ability is availability. Continue to make time for the Holy Spirit, the Helper, to teach you and help you remember all God has done.
Your personal application:
- Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how you can love God and His people today (John 14:26).
- Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you how God has loved you and blessed you (John 14:26).
- Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you what truth God has said about you (John 14:26).
