“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Mathew 11:28 NIV
Most of us can relate to feeling weary and burdened. We have schedules to keep, emails to answer, and soccer games to attend. We are a very busy society, and it’s no wonder why we so often overlook Jesus’ invitation to come into His presence and rest: to meet with
Him, to recover, to hear Him, and to become aware of what He wants to speak to us. God desires all of us to experience His provision, His love, and His peace.
This year, let’s be intentional about spending time in His presence, allowing Him to take all of our anxieties and cares. Let’s rest in His presence.
Father God, help us to slow down and understand where our strength comes from. Give us rest in Your presence this year. Lord, we thank You for every good gift that comes from You. We thank You also for using our trials and struggles to help us become stronger and more dependent on You. Father, help us to decrease so that You will increase more in us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
