Psalm 42 MSG
Do you ever feel like your best days are behind you? It’s easy to get into a rut and begin to feel like there are a whole lot more bad days than good days. Nothing seems to be going right and you don’t know what to do to make it better.
Maybe 2019 was like that for you. Maybe the entire last decade has been that way. You remember the good times but now you desperately thirst for God’s presence. Can I encourage you that in
this new year, this new decade, there is hope? Take some time today and do as the psalmist did. Give your soul a pep talk! Encourage and uplift your soul by reminding yourself of God’s goodness and His hand at work in your life. Sometimes, like this psalmist, we just need to jog our memory and realize that God is not absent in our time of trouble. Remember what He has done for you and know that He is still at work within you!
God, You are good. Remind me of Your goodness in my life. Help me to see You at work, even in the mundane and obscure areas of my life. Holy Spirit, teach my soul to hold steady to the hope I have in Christ no matter the situation I’m in. Thank You Lord for Your faithfulness, Your grace, and Your mercy. In You I put all of my trust. You alone are the source of my hope. Amen.
